Meet Our Staff

Dr. Linda Mitchell - Veterinarian
Linda Mitchell, DVM graduated from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1998, fulfilling a lifelong dream that started when she was 5 years old. She graduated from Lordstown High School in 1986 and earned her BA from Hiram College, graduating Summa Cum Laude in 1990.

After graduating from The Ohio State University, she worked in a local vet hospital for 4 years. In September 2002, Dr. Mitchell started Rainbow Mobile Vet Clinic. After 2 years of mobile practice she expanded to the stationary clinic. Dr. Mitchell lives in the Heights area with her two dogs, Ripley and Bug and three cats, Buddy, Barley and Skittle.

Dr. Jessica Alcorn - Veterinarian
Jessica Alcorn, DVM is a native of Ohio, growing up in Geauga County.  She earned a BFA from Rhode Island School of Design in 1993 and worked for several years as a designer.  Choosing to pursue her love of animals and medicine, she went back to school and earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2004.

Dr. Alcorn shares her life with two dogs (Seba and Zaphod) and three cats (Lord Randall, Guildenstern and Rosencrantz), Her weekend pursuits include birding, hiking with her dogs and goofing around with family and friends.

Brandon - Senior Veterinary Assistant
Animals have always been a part of Brandon's life, but after watching a friends dog get hit by a car with no one knowing what to do, he decided that he never wanted to stand by helplessly again and found his future profession.  Brandon is a native Ohioan and he comes from a very large and close family.  He is partial to large breed dogs such as German Shepherds, Great Danes, Labs and Pit Bulls because, in his own words, "...they are goofballs like me".

Brandon has been studying at Cleveland State and Case Western University with the goal of becoming a vet with his own practice.  In his spare time (what there is of it), Brandon loves fishing, motorcycles, and working on cars and car audio systems.  He enjoys Scrubs and is a fan of the Indiana Jones series of movies.  He's a great cook and in the summer often finds happiness at his grill.

Brandon shares his life with 3 dogs, Shelby, Nadia and Neesie and 3 cats, Nate, Norman and Nikki.

Danielle - Vet Tech
Growing up in Michigan, Danielle always knew that her career would focus on animals and after two years of school she earned her Associates of Specialized Science at Vet Tech Institute.  She plans to continue studying to keep up to date with advances in veterinary medicine and strives to be the best she can be each day.

Danielle currently shares her life with her husband and their three pets - Ruby the Dachshund, Roy the Lab Mix and Meela the cat.  One of her main passions in life is horses - over the years they have taught her patience, kindness and understanding.

Dianna - Veterinary Technician
A career in the veterinary field was always something that interested Dianna.  During her undergraduate studies she determined that the perfect job for her would be as a Veterinarian Technician, so after earning her BS in Small Animal Studies from Delaware Valley College she earned her certification.

Dianna's main interest is animal behavior.  She hopes to help people find effective ways to "fix" problems that arise with animal companions instead of relinquishing them to a shelter.  Dianna loves all animals, which led her to become a vegan, but she does feel particularly drawn to cats.  Her animals are her babies and she would like Rainbow clients to know that she'll treat their animals just like her own.

Dianna shares her life with her husband Seth, 2 dogs (Linus and Lucy), 7 cats (Dmetri, Sugar Bear, Moby, Monet, Marbles, Uno and Calla), 3 goats (Colonel, Sylvester and Merlin) and 3 pot-bellied pigs (Pepe, Paris and Louie).  In her spare time she enjoys hiking with her dogs, photography and watching one of her favorite programs on TV (CSI Las Vegas and NY) or the movie Grease.

Dianna's favorite quote is "The greatness of a nation and it's moral progress can be judged by the way it's animals are treated" - Gandhi.

Kathy - Receptionist
Kathy has always had animals in her life and is deeply devoted to them.  This commitment to their health and well-being was one of the things that inspired her to seek employment in the animal care industry.  She currently shares her life with 5 cats:  14 year old Midnight, 7 year old Jenny, 6 year old Mallory, 4 year old Tally Jo and 4 year old Cali Marie; her dog, Baby, who is a 13 year old lab shepherd mix, her father, Al Sr. and her brother David.

Kathy enjoys attending church, traveling, playing games, reading, crafts, computer and snuggling with her furry kids.  Her current favorite TV show is "Suits" and "Dr. Zhivago" is her favorite movie.

Kathy would like Rainbow clients to know that she loves all animals and that she treats each patient like her own; - her goal is to help clients through all the stages of caring for their pets.

Kristen - Veterinary Assistant
Kristen was inspired to choose a career in animal care by her family's love for their pets - they always had at least two to take care of at any given time. When she isn't working or focusing on building the skills she will need to eventually become a vet tech, Kristen enjoys attending Cleveland sporting events, traveling and cooking.  Her favorite TV show is "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" and her all time favorite movie is "Pulp Fiction".

Kristen would like Rainbow clients to know that she treats patients that come in just like they are her own - with love and care.

Maria - Office Manager
Originally a westsider, Maria moved and now calls Willowick home. She shares her life with her two children, Kelsey and Matthew.  Maria absolutely adores dogs and has three of her own - a Lab named Lucky, a Rottweiler mix named Marlin and a Chow mix named Maddie.  She also has 2 cats, Snickers and Tommy.  Maria has always been a big fan of Siberian Huskies and Labrador Retrievers and enjoys spending time with her family when she is not working.

Mary- Veterinary Assistant
Initially planning on a career in neuropsychology, Mary discovered that her true career path was the veterinary field after spending time volunteering at a shelter and fostering animals.  She holds a BA in Psychology and English from the University of Notre Dame and her long term goal is to attend vet school.

Mary grew up right here in Cleveland Heights and currently shares her home with two human roommates, a lab collie mix named Wrigley and a cat named Phyllis. While Mary feels a special connection to dogs, she is looking forward to learning about all companion animals.

When she's not studying, Mary enjoys reading, staying active and cheering on the Fighting Irish.  She would like Rainbow clients to know that she feels that it will be a privilege to get to know all of them and their pets.

Stinky Al Jose - In Memoriam
It is with a very heavy heart that Stinky Al Jose crossed the Rainbow Bridge Friday January 9, 2015 surrounded by 15 of his family and friends.  He had cancer and didn't respond to treatment as we had hoped.  Stinky had been the boss of the clinic and in charge of food security for over 10 years and his passing leaves a very big hole.  His many friends will always consider him part of the staff.
